Who are the adult staff? Rabbi Eric Gurvis and Marriah Vengroff will accompany the participants to New York.
How will we get to and around New York? We will travel to New York in a charter bus that will then remain with us throughout the weekend to provide transportation in New York City.
Where will we stay? We will likely be staying at The Hotel @ Times Square located at 59 W 46th Street. Participants will stay in rooms in groups of 2 - 4. Room lists will be emailed out directly to participants. If you are in a room with 3 or 4 people we will make air mattresses available to you. Final confirmation of hotel will be made in mid-November.
What will we need to pay for? Participants will purchase their own lunch on Saturday in Chelsea Market and on Sunday at a rest stop on they way home. Additionally participants may want money for souvenirs or snacks. We suggest bringing $50-$100.
What about rain? We will make adjustments to the schedule based on the degree of bad weather, our location in Manhattan, the interests of the group and the amount of time available. Optional activities include the the 9/11 Museum, African Amercian Cemetary Museum, The Jewish Museum (Friday only), the MET, the Natural History Museum, and a few others. While we will not put anyones health or safely in jeopardy due to extreme weather we will continue with the schedule as planned unless the weather is dangerous. Updates on weather will be made just prior to our departure. Please plan to bring clothing that is appropriate for the expected weather.
